IIOC contributes to the week’s ISO CASCO meetings
As IIOC contributes to the week’s ISO CASCO meetings, see how ISO helps make certification more robust with CASCO‘s activities.
ISO states that, ‘CASCO is the ISO committee that works on issues relating to conformity assessment. CASCO develops policy and publishes standards related to conformity assessment’. For example, CASCO has responsibility for the development of ISO/IEC 17021-1 which ‘contains principles and requirements for the competence, consistency and impartiality of bodies providing audit and certification of all types of management systems.’
IIOC is involved in the week’s activities, hosted by Standards Council of Canada, the Canadian national standards body and national accreditation body.
- Chairman’s Policy and Coordination Group (CPC) coordinates the technical work of CASCO and assists the CASCO Chair in identifying strategic conformity assessment issues.
- Strategic Alliance and Regulatory Group (STAR) provides a forum for industry sectors and regulators to interact with CASCO
- CASCO Plenary, with the one day dedicated to the ongoing technical work of CASCO, with presentations on each of the working groups. The second day will be dedicated to the presentation of the working documents and reports from liaisons
